My Approach

My therapeutic approach is clearly much different from the typical traditional therapy style. My approach is eclectic and I use a variety of modalities and orientations such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Shadow Work Therapy, and Reality Therapy.


I approach therapy under the impression that my clients are the experts on their lives and experiences I am merely a tool or guide to help you to discover the best parts of yourself while understanding that it is through the pain of life that often brings us to therapy because we are no longer comfortable with aspects of lives.

About Raven

I have been in the mental health field for 12 years. I started off my journey while in college as a Child Care Worker in a residential treatment facility for foster children. I eventually would go on to  working as a School Counselor, where I worked with at-risk middle school-aged children

The first session is spent learning more about each individual person and your relationship as a couple. Ideally, I would prefer each couple to come into the first session together if possible, if for some reason that is not possible, understand that my ethical responsibility is to ensure that my approach to the couple as a unit is unbias.


If I meet with one person initially, I will also meet with the other person individually for the same amount of sessions that I gave the other person in the couple unit. My minimum sessions that I will meet with couples individually is 3 sessions before I will require that the other person start joining to sessions.

Life is expected to have ups and downs and that is unavoidable. The therapeutic relationship that I hope to bring to our sessions is one of compassion, understanding, empathy, and openness to differences without judgment.


It is my belief that everyone on this planet strives to have a good quality of life and can become overwhelmed with constant disappointments, self-doubt, and a sense of feeling lost.

About Life Practice

Life Practice Counseling Group is a non-profit counseling agency offering fees on a sliding scale to the greater Sacramento Area and Stockton areas based on monthly income or the client’s ability to pay.


We have two purposes; one as a charitable organization to the surrounding communities that offers these counseling services at a low cost that serves the under-privileged and low to middle class populations that would not otherwise be able to afford counseling services or who do not have mental health insurance.


The second purpose is to be a training facility for therapist’s who are collecting hours to obtain their licenses; this is how we are able to provide the low fees. Our mission both as a training facility and a charitable organization is to provide the most professional, ethical, and knowledgeable clinical treatment.
